COUNTY WIDE BURN BAN ENFORCED BY PARK COUNTY SHERIFF

JUNE 12, 2018 - PARK COUNTY REMAINS UNDER A BURN BAN (Read more below).  Conditions are extreme and $1,000.00 tickets are being written by the Park County Sheriff's Office for violations.  Please know that we are very appreciative of your understanding and cooperation.  We in turn are sympathetic to your frustrations regarding the fire ban, but it is in place for the safety of our local residents and for those of you who are visiting our little slice of heaven.

Effective May 23, 2018 Park County is under a County Wide Burn Ban.  This means no open flames and no burning on private property.                                                                                                           


If you are camping on Federal Land, Forest Service has issued a Stage I Burn Ban.  What this means to you?

  • Campfires are only permitted in designated camping areas
  • Campfires must be contained within the permanent metal rings at the designated campsites
  • Suppression Equipment must be on hand 
  • Campfires  MUST BE ATTENDED AT ALL TIMES
  • Campfires must be completely extinguished before leaving the campground
